Overview
Having installed the original temporary bridge structure during the McAlpine era, it seemed very fitting that the Eden team asked us to manage the design and installation of the new permanent bridge structure.
The requirement for suitable disabled access to pit bottom was an essential part of the Eden brief and given the old scaffolding structure had seen better days, it was time to work with our old friends, from SKM Anthony Hunt associates to complete the structural design. The rest is history!
Key Project Stages
✓ Manage the design development of a disabled compliant permanent bridge structure from the visitor center to the bluff, to enable access to pit bottom via the recently installed glass lift
✓ Disassembly of the existing temporary scaffolding bridge structure
✓ Piling, foundations and erection of the new bridge structure whilst working in a live public environment
