The Building Safety Act 2024
All members of the We Are Ease (WAE) team have been dedicating time to review and understand the new requirements outlined as part of The Building Safety Act 2024.
This Act is a complex piece of legislation that aims to secure the safety of people in or around buildings and improve building standards. It will overhaul regulations and set out clear guidelines on how buildings should be constructed, maintained, and made safe. It is vital that all our employees understand what this change in legislation means for WAE, an example being the need to ensure the golden thread of information is made available for all areas of work.
The Act seeks to ensure that the safety of future building occupants is placed front and centre of the building control process. The Act’s requirements are wide ranging and impose new obligations on all construction projects and duty holders.
It is our responsibility to fully understand our obligations as Construction Managers under the new Act. WAE encourage all members of the team to undertake their own research and learning as part of their personal CPD, alongside the Building Safety Act training arranged for January 2025.
